What omega-3 is actually doing in there
Osteoarthritis in a big dog is an inflammatory problem as much as a mechanical one. EPA and DHA — the two long-chain omega-3s from marine oil — get built into cell membranes and shift the balance of the inflammatory signals the joint produces. That’s the mechanism with the strongest evidence behind it in dogs, and it is dose-dependent: the trials that found an effect used a real amount, not a sprinkle.
Green-lipped mussel carries its own marine lipids. The catch is the form — heat processing has been shown to destroy the active lipids, which is why the extract form and the manufacturing method matter more than the milligram number on its own.

How long before I see anything?
Plan on 8 to 12 weeks. Weeks 1–2 the chew is just the best part of his morning, and that’s normal.
